Today we are launching the Esimity MCP. It is a cloud hosted Model Context Protocol server that lets AI agents search, compare, and fetch eSIM plans directly from buy.esimity.com within the chat window.
It is a fun tool for tech savvy travelers building their own local AI setups, but we actually built this with our B2B partners in mind. Travel agencies, hotels, and affiliates who are building customer facing AI tools can now plug our MCP straight into their systems.
What is MCP exactly?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is simply a way for AI models to connect to live databases. Instead of relying on old training data, an AI can pull real time information from specific places.
By building a hosted MCP for Esimity, we are basically giving AI agents access to live mobile data plans for over 200 countries.
Why this matters for our partners
The travel industry is moving fast on AI. But giving advice is just step one. A truly useful AI should actually get things done for the user.
